Maria Beltsikova and Tatiana Dordzhieva are two traditional musicians and performers from the Republic of Kalmykia, within the Russian Federation. Members of the Kalmyk people, the descendants of Western Mongols who emigrated to Russia, Maria Beltsikova and Tatiana Dordzhieva's repertoire is composed of religious Buddhist songs, droning laments, ceremonial wedding songs, heroic ballads about Kalmyks in the Patriotic War 1812, and, of course, Soviet folklore.
