Raymond Reynaud

Born in 1920, after an academic training in Salon-de-Provence Fine Arts School, which was not satisfying and pushed him to stop his artistic activity, Raymond Reynaud discovered in the early 1960's the Yugoslav naives and Gaston Chaissac. A revelation. Therefore, the artist continued, until his death in 2007, to produce a dense, abundant and exuberant work, becoming a figure of art brut. Including paintings, large polyptychs, and sculptures made of recycled materials, Raymond Reynaud built in his house-museum of Senas, which grows to nestle his new creation, his work borrowed from popular culture, but also politics and mysticism.
