AuguresLaboratoire des nouvelles pratiques architecturales

 - Augures
The catalog of the exhibition at the first Biennale of Architecture and Landscape.
On the occasion of the first Biennial of Architecture and Landscape of Ile-de-France (Bap!) held from May to July 2019 in Versailles, an exhibition entitled Augures, laboratory of new architectural practices, was held at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Versailles under the scientific curatorship of Djamel Klouche, Professor at ENSAV, architect and urban planner co-founder of the architecture and urban planning agency AUC. Augures sought to question the built world through the presentation for a few months of a laboratory of new architectural practices as auguries in the coming climatic metropolis. The climatic metropolis engages through its making three major breaks that structure and will durably structure our contemporary society :
- the question of the new climate regime: how are the metropolitan territories able to respond to the stakes and ambitions brought to the COP 21 and the way in which the planet is becoming a new actor that must sit at the negotiating table?
- the question of acceleration and we could say deceleration: how new technologies are changing our approaches to building cities and their territories and rebuilding a new form of urban economy with greater solidarity?
- the question of the common good: we are witnessing the emergence of a more horizontal society where people are more inclined to want to play an increasingly important role in the making of their immediate and distant environment.
The combination of these three issues and the way in which architects, urban planners and landscape architects are responding to these challenges make Augures a laboratory for new practices. It is conceived as a stimulating confrontation of immersive project scenarios and prospective research.
This book puts into perspective, through texts and images, the contributions of more than 30 European and international collectives, architects, urban planners, landscape architects and thinkers of our contemporary territories engaged in these issues.
This collection of texts and images, which takes the form of an abecedarium, was conceived under the scientific direction of Djamel Klouche, and under the artistic and graphic direction of Joris Kritis.
