Alice Hui-Sheng Chang

 
Alice Hui-Sheng Chang (born 1984 in Changhua, Taiwan) is a sound improvisor, experimental vocalist, also an experiential arts therapist. As a vocalist working with extended techniques, she builds intimate exchanges with her audience in improvisation. She creates an array of timbres and textures by controlling tension in her throat and alternating the passage of air and vocalisations. Alice Hui-Sheng Chang often performs in collaboration with artists from various background or mediums. Since 2003, she has performed across countries in Asia, Oceania, and Europe. Her music has been published by labels including Antifrost, Audition, Trente Oiseaux, Homophoni, Sub Rosa, Subjam/KwanYin, Syrphe, and others. She is the founder of Ting Shuo Hear Say, a community venue and organisation focused on listening, arts and discursive education.
