Sound Games

Sound Games - Sound Games
Six sound games to play at home or on stage, even without musical expertise! (a project by the Jeux Sonores collective, initiated in 2021 by Sébastien Roux, which brings together five people with a variety of practices and backgrounds, at the intersection of the sound arts, musical mediation and scientific research).
These sound pieces are made up of playful protocols akin to board games. Each piece uses sound as a medium. They contain objectives, rules and victory conditions. Be careful and strategic to win the game. The six games in this collection alternate between competitive and collaborative games, memory games and listening games, vocal games and instrumental games—using everyday objects that are easy to find and simple to use. Multiplayer: from 2 to 21 people (depending on the game).
Diane Blondeau is a sound artist. Her practice focuses on fieldrecording and installation. Her work focuses on orality, acoustic know-how and environments.

After studying the piano at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon and obtaining a PhD in Musicology, Clément Canonne was recruited as a tenured researcher by the French Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, and attached to Ircam (Paris). At Ircam, he is the head of the "Analysis of Musical Practices" team and conducts scientific and artistic research on collective improvisation, aesthetic appreciation, auditory attention and musical humour.

Clément Lebrun is a musicologist who specialized in Renaissance music, a bass and trumpet player, a singer and a composer. He took part in the Experimental Music Orchestra DOC artistic adventure (Le Doigt dans l'Oreille du Chauve), in Normandy. He is the producer of national radio station France Musique program Le cri du Patchwork. He is also a teacher, in particular in music mediation, a tour guide, a workshop designer at the Musée de la Musique-Cité de la Musique, one of the co-founders of the DEMOS orchestra from 2010 to 2012 and a mediator.

Sébastien Roux is a sound artist. His work combines algorithmic composition, digital synthesis and sound space. He collaborates with ensembles Dedalus, Thymes, Omedoc, 0, and with choreographer DD Dorvillier. His research focuses on auditory attention.

Aymeric Stamm is a CNRS research engineer specializing in statistical information processing. His theoretical research involves developing mathematical methods and models for the statistical analysis of complex objects evolving in non-Euclidean geometric spaces, such as populations of graphs or topological data. He also devotes a large part of his research activity to applied statistics, particularly in neuroscience. Keen to promote a better understanding of the interests and challenges of his discipline, he takes part in a number of initiatives to disseminate mathematics to the general public. He also collaborates with artists such as Alessandro Bosetti and Sébastien Roux on art/science projects.
