Comment notre expérience de la présence, du
temps et de l'histoire s'articule dans les pratiques artistiques contemporaines.
Notre présent est défini par la contemporanéité – l'interconnexion de temps, d'histoires et de temporalités hétérogènes. Ces temps nombreux et variés n'existent pas simplement en parallèle les uns avec les autres, simultanément. Ils s'interconnectent et s'appuient sur le même présent, formant une sorte de présent planétaire, et impliquant – au moins en principe – un partage global du temps, bien qu'il ne soit pas partagé de manière égale.
Dans cet essai, Jacob Lund examine la manière dont les conditions d'un art et d'une pratique esthétique politiquement engagés, autour d'un questionnement du présent, ont changé au cours des dernières décennies, tout en considérant comment notre présent historique et sa qualité temporelle diffèrent significativement des présents précédents.
