Entrée des Puys de grêle (CD)

Quentin Rollet, Jean-Marc Foussat, Christian Rollet - Entrée des Puys de grêle (CD)
Improvised trio featuring sound engineer and Synthi player Jean-Marc Foussat, and father and son Christian and Quentin Rollet. Free music with a wide dynamic range and wild acoustic and electronic spaces.
Quentin Rollet (born 1974) started playing the alto saxophone at the age of 11 and the sopranino saxophone at 37. After a few years spent unlearning the teaching of the conservatory, he devoted himself solely to free improvisation. This led him to play on record or on stage with groups as varied as Nurse With Wound, Prohibition, The Red Krayola, Mendelson, David Grubbs, Herman Dune, Akosh S. Unit, Thierry Müller, Rubin Steiner, eRikm, Jac Berrocal, Andrew Liles, Bästard, Ulan Bator, Costes, Red, Melmac, Dragibus, Phoebe Killdeer & The Short Straws, Jérôme Lorichon, Charlie O, Dan-Charles Dahan, Zsolt Söres, Pal Toth, Jean-Noël Cognard, Jean-Pierre Barja, Rivkah, Benoît de Villeneuve...... He is a member of Pointe du Lac, and the co-founder of the labels Rectangle (with Noël Akchoté), reQords and Bisou Records.
Born 1955 in Oran, Jean-Marc Foussat created several ephemeral experimental groups in the mid-1970s. He first played the guitar, before preferring the analog synthesizer and magnetic tapes. At the end of the 1970s he began recording improvised music concerts (Derek Bailey, Steve Lacy, Massacre, Carlos Zingaro, Joëlle Léandre, etc.) and collaborated with labels such as Incus, Hat Hut, Tzadik, Rec Rec, Celluloïd, Rectangle... In 1981, he publishes "Abattage", his first solo album. Ten years after, he goes back on stage with the group Marteau Rouge, accompanied by Makoto Sato on drums and Jean-François Pauvros on electric guitar. In 2005 he started "Aliquid", with saxophonist Sylvain Guerineau, and little by little, will play more and more regularly with many improvised music actors in France and elsewhere. At the end of 2012 he launched his label Fou Records.
Christian Rollet is the drummer of Le Workshop de Lyon , one of the oldest French free jazz band (founded in 1967) and founded the ARFI collective in 1977. He also plays in La Marmite Infernale and many other projects. He is the father of Quentin Rollet.
