Temps à devenirÀ propos de l'histoire du temps

Ilya Prigogine - Temps à devenir
Transcript of a lecture given at the Musée de la Civilisation, Québec, in 1993, in which the scientist Ilya Prigogine suggests an understanding of time that isn't just a measuring variable but a real dimension whose most fertile property would be its irreversibility.
The first book of the “Mimic Otopus” collection is Temps à devenir, à propos de l'histoire du temps (by Ilya Prigogine. The text was written for the lecture at the Musée de la Civilisation, Québec, in 1993, in which the scientist suggests an understanding of time that isn't just a measuring variable but a real dimension whose most fertile property would be its irreversibility. If the latter doesn't' allow us the chance to correct our errors, it can serve as a powerful driving force from which the universe is able to develop complex systems with a vast diversity of life. Time is the space where life and the universe always invents new features.
“Mimic Otopus” is a collection of reprints of Ilya Prigongine's fundamental texts, which are hard to find or not yet translated in French.
Ilya Prigogine, a Belgian of Russian origins, a physicist and chemist who received the Nobel prize of chemistry in 1977, revitalised ideas in science thanks to innovative theories based on diverse studies, looking at car traffic, insect societies and the growth of cancerous cells. He is the author of many scientific textbooks in which he tackles questions about fundamental topics, such as: matter, void and time.
