Intuitive Notebook #-1Diagrams, Drawings and Spaces – Penser comme un pied

David Rabouin - Intuitive Notebook #-1
The first issue of the Intuitive Notebook's series of theoretical texts features an unpublished text by philosopher of mathematics David Rabouin on the relationships between mathematics, physicality, and intuition.
This original text is the result of several working sessions with David Rabouin at laboratoire des intuitions. Citing Lacan, Rabouin says: “We believe we think with our brain. Me, I think with my feet, it is only there that I encounter something hard.” An exploration of mathematics philosophy which shows that even the most abstract mathematics relate to the body, the gesture, and the intuition.
The journal Intuitive Notebook publishes the works from ESAAA art school's laboratoire des intuitions (Laboratory of Intuitions), a multidimensional platform directed by artist Thierry Mouillé. Its format recalls the well-known black cover moleskine notebook. Issues #0, #1, #2, #3... index documents and activities; Issues #-1, #-2, #-3... are dedicated to theoretical texts.
David Rabouin is Senior Research Associate at the CNRS, Paris.
