Fouad Bouchoucha -
Designed by the artist in collaboration with the graphic studio S-y-n-d-i-c-a-t, Fouad Bouchoucha's first monograph gathers a selection of his works along with four essays and an interview.
Fouad Bouchoucha and graphic designers S-y-n-d-i-c-a-t's common interest towards production methods led them to undertake this monograph as an independent project that would involve printed images and their intrinsic qualities.
The publication is divided in two parts, each repeating the same flat plan with two different versions—French and English—respectively printed in France and Lithuania. Echoing the artist's work, the result reveals two different print qualities and expertise, in addition to a highly technical aspect. A poster that serves both as a dustjacket and a cover reproduces the test print result of a color calibration on its front, with a drawing of the artist on its back.
A former industrial designer, Fouad Bouchoucha (born 1981 in Marseilles, where he lives and works) develops a multifaceted work (sculpture, performance, sound, theater, video) that questions the notions of potential, power and performance, particularly in the fields of technology, sports and sound.
Edited by Maud Chavaillon.
Texts by Rebecca Lamarche-Vadel, Alice Marquaille, Hélène Meisel, Leila Quillacq; interview with Fouad Bouchoucha by Guillaume Mansart.
