Itinéraires Fantômes is an oracle deck created by Alexandra Grant with Hélène Cixous in celebration of H. Cixous' work.
The Itinéraires Fantômes deck consists of 72 cards in six categories: animots, creatures, and entities that include Those from Below, Those from Above, Those Who Fly/Steal, who travel via Portals, manipulate Messages and Symbols, and have Superpowers. The cards are accompanied by a booklet in English and French.
The images on these cards come from family, friends, and artists who have been inspired by Hélène Cixous' writing. Published in conjunction with the eponymous exhibition at the CAPC Bordeaux in 2024, curated by Marion Vasseur Raluy and Ana Iwataki.
Alexandra Grant (born 1973 in Fairview Park, Ohio, lives and works in Los Angeles) is an American artist who uses language, literature, and exchanges with writers as the basis for her work in painting, drawing, sculpture, and photography. She is a founding member, with Keanu Reeves, of X Artists' Books.
Hélène Cixous (born 1937 in Oran) is a French writer, writer, playwright, poet, literary critic, philosopher and teacher. A leading figure in feminism, is the author of a major body of work comprising almost seventy works of fiction and essays.
