Sophie Lapalu

 
An art critic and curator, Sophie Lapalu is graduated of the Ecole du Louvre (Paris) and the Ecole du Magasin (Grenoble). She teaches at the University Paris 8, after three years as coordinator of the ENSAPC exhibition space YGREC (Paris). Considering the exhibition and the programming as time for experimenting her researches, she organized exhibitions such as A Secret Poet (Jeffrey Perkins) (La Vitrine and the CAC Bretigny, Paris, 2011), D'échec en échec sans perdre son enthousiasme (YGREC, Paris, 2012), Cargo Culte (Jardin d'Agronomie Tropical du Bois de Vincennes, Paris, 2013), L'île (Centre Culturel Français, Karlsruhe, 2013), Pretty Vacant (Villa Renata, Bâle and La Chaufferie, Strasbourg, 2013) or performances programming such as No sport (YGREC, 2012), Revue blanche pour Nuit Blanche (Théâtre du Grand Parquet, Paris, 2013), or Que s'est-il passé ? (Mac/Val, Vitry, 2014). She was in residency at Les Verrières (Pont Aven, 2012), Astérides ateliers d'artistes (Marseille, 2014) and publishes regularly in periodicals and catalogs of exhibition.

Since 2010, Sophie Lapalu and Jean-Christophe Norman have worked together in the form of interviews and critical writings focussing on artistic actions and their visibility. De l'action à la conversation (“From action to conversation”) forms part of this reflective approach.
